Did you know about

Esther

Esther's story is one of drama, intrigue, murder and romance.

It tells of how a woman risked her own life to save others.

Esther lived in the land of Persia where her people the Jews were in Exile. King Xerxes ruled and loved to celebrate his victories by getting drunk, but his Queen Vashti was displeased with her husband and refused to answer when he summoned her to come. That one decision changed her whole life.

Vashti's disobedience to her husband was seen as an insult, and would open the path for other women to despise their husbands so she was banished, removed from her husbands presence, and orders were given for all wives to give proper respect to their husbands....

All husbands and wives need to show proper respect for our partners, we need to esteem our partner and raise them to a sacred position. Esteem protects a marriage from ups and downs which it will encounter and if a husband's tenderness and care for his wife depends on the way she looks or how she feels, on a given day then the marriage is on shaky ground.

Love is an essential ingredient and couples that say we just don't love each other any more need to be told... "Start learning, start cultivating and start developing." We need to train love to be the willing servant of our Marriage. Respect must be earned, it may be demanded, but it can never be imposed. It has to flow freely from the heart.

The King is looking for a Queen.

Enter Esther,

A Women of natural beauty and inner purity of heart. As we look at her character we can learn some valuable lessons.

She is the one character in the story who shows real signs of development. Initially a passive women who allows others to direct her life. She was adopted, after her mother and father died and was showing signs of gratefulness and gratitude for being looked after.

She was Obedient and a pure delight to Mordecai who took her in. Let us remember Jesus took us in.... She knew how to please others, ...to act with kindness wanting nothing in return and by developing this quality won people's favour, including the KING...

She was able to assess situations and take appropriate action. She was compassionate to others not just in word but with practical help, sending clothes for her Uncle

She understood the importance of timing (her real request came at the second banquet). She understood the importance of wording, asking first for her own life and then her people, everything was in context .

Those who know GOD'S heart use every opportunity to speak of salvation and are concerned about the plight of others.

Esther had one to one council with the KING she showed courage and seized opportunity.

Let us keep talking with the King of Kings in prayer with peoples names for salvation, and reach out to tell others of Jesus' Great love for them....
