First Flitwick Boys Brigade
Space Camp at the beginning of November went very well and one of the boys attending shares his thoughts here:
"On Friday 4th November we launched off from Flitwick Methodist church on a journey which was to take us to Leicester. Our mission was to visit the National Space Centre. We stayed in an old church and Angela (aka Captain) prepared our space meals. Every morning we had inspection.
On Saturday we spent the day at the Space Centre. I enjoyed it very much, there were lots of interesting things to look at and learn. In the evening we watched fireworks and then a brilliant movie.
On Sunday morning we had church parade then we went tobogganing which was excellent. After that we set off for home
I had a great time and I say THANK YOU to all the adults"

The following weekend saw the Junior Section football. Right at the 11th hour we found ourselves with a squad ready and willing to play! Well done to Grant, Conor, Nico, Max, Arthur and Thomas for turning out to represent the company. Compared to the other teams we were very young but kept going and finished equal 8th with 1st Kempston.
19th November was the Battalion Anchor Boy Party, which as ever was held at Flitwick. Over 40 Anchor Boys from across the Battalion came together for a fun packed afternoon of games and food.
26th November saw the battalion heading for Flitwick once again this time for the first round of the National Masterteam competition. 7 teams from our own battalion plus visitors from Watford took part in 10 rounds of tough questions including Bible Knowledge, Space Travel and Entertainment. We put in a good effort although our sporting knowledge let us down! The visit to the national space centre paid off as we got the second highest score in that round, and we also had the second highest score in the Bible knowledge round. Well done to Sam, Eddie and Jack who finished equal 6th in the Battalion competition which unfortunately wasn't good enough to take us through to the second round of the national competition. Maybe next year lads?
Enough of our weekend exploits, our weekly meetings have included cooking for the Company section who in the next couple of weeks will move on to do some Physical Recreation! Juniors have been busy preparing for the figure marching and Dodge ball competitions, which take place on 3rd December. Looking ahead to the New Year Company Section has 5-a-side football in mid January and Junior Section have Team Games in early February.
Finally please do join us for our annual carol Service on Tuesday 20th December. For the first time this will be held jointly with the Girls' Brigade. It starts at 6.30pm and will be followed by refreshments

Company Captain
2nd Flitwick Girls' Brigade
First of all some good news. Mrs Rebecca Caird will take over the captaincy of the company from me after she has done her training, which means 2nd Flitwick Girls' Brigade can keep going. We still need some help in the Seniors, so if anyone can help would they contact me as soon as possible.
On the 14th December a group of Juniors are hoping to go to Steppingley Hospital and talk to the patients and their friends and relatives and also sing some carols for them.
On 20th December we will be having our joint Carol Service with Boys Brigade. The Explorers and Juniors will be taking part in the service. The girls should come at 6 o'clock as normal for any last minute practice, but the service will not start until 6.30pm, and there will be refreshments to follow.
Girls' Brigade will start back after Christmas on 10th January 2006 with a party with games and of course plenty of food.
