- 37 years in BBC Television, mainly working in television sound.
- Firstly as a Technical Assistant/engineer in Television News at Alexandra Palace
- Secondly as a boom operator/sound assistant in television studios
- Thirdly as a sound assistant with a fair amount of location boom op work in television outside broadcasts.
- Finally as a deputy sound supervisor responsible for the day to day running of the sound section of a large outside broadcast vehicle and organising onsite communications for outside broadcasts. This post also entailed working as a sound supervisor as well as some boom op work.
